Q-“Do you require the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine?”
Here at Mt. Tom Kennel, we do not require the kennel cough vaccine. Our vet, Dr. Henderson, says that vaccine is not full-proof and even with the vaccine, dogs can still catch kennel cough. The kennel cough vaccine is like the dog version of the flu shot.

Q- “Are you open on holidays?”
We are closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. We are here to take care of your pets but not for transactions or phone calls!

Q- “Will my pet be walked or have playtime with other dogs?”
We do not promise walks but we give them as time allows. We do not give playtime/walks with other dogs unless they are from the same family and the owner signs off to do so. The dogs here get much more exercise from being able to access their run than they would be getting on walks!

Q- “Can I bring a bed/blanket for my pet(s)?”
At our facility, we pull all blankets from each pets room every morning and wash them. Our washing machines never stop! Because of this, we do not accept owner’s blankets or bedding since they may get lost. That being said, we will happily accept any blankets you would like to donate!

Q- “Should I bring food for my pet?”
We do provide dry and canned food but we recommend you bring their food if they have a sensitive stomach or are on a specialty diet.
